Projects

Current and past projects

Here are the projects I have completed. These projects give an idea of what I have already done, both during my current studies at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and at previous institutions.

Eco-Marathon Vehicle

The Eco-Marathon project is the project im currently working on. It is a group project in which we have a year to design a complete vehicle capable of travelling the greatest distance on 1 litre of petrol or 1 kWh of electricity. This will ultimately be decided by a race at the end of the year against the other groups from the study.

Bracket optimalisation

During this project, I investigated how to optimise the intercooler mounting brackets on a 2004 Mini Cooper R53 S. The intercooler is currently mounted on top of the engine, which results in a loss of power due to heat soaking. Fitting a heavier Airtec intercooler results in increased power and greater forces on the mounting brackets.

Using various simulation programmes, I have optimised these mounting brackets to meet the specified requirements.

Fire Engine for Amsterdam

In the first year of the course, as part of a group project, I designed a fire engine for Kenbri Firefighting. We designed this fire engine specially made for the narrow streets in Amstedam. During this project, we carried out research into the requirements and the resources available to us to develop the best possible vehicle.

Emergency Shelter

For the final project of the ‘Research and Design’ course at High School, we were given the project to design a emergency shelter to provide relief following the severe earthquake in Turkey in 2023. The main challenge here was to identify the basic necessities required and the logistical transport involved.

The impact of rake attack on Race cars

For my junior year project in High School, I investigated the pressure difference at various angles of rake attack on a racing car. Using the Venturi effect, I tested the pressure difference at different angles of rake attack with the aid of a homemade wind tunnel.
